Remarks fields cleaned up in QueryPlus 360

clock October 22, 2008 09:00 by author Daily(?) Querier

As part of the great mapping project, the fields for Remarks were analyzed and separated into:

-                        Policy Remarks

-                        Line of Business Remarks

For Policy Remarks, the fields look like this:

For Line of Business remarks, just substitute Line of Business for Policy.

Remarks can be saved in many other areas of the AMS360 interface. We will be adding those fields as part of an upcoming major enhancement that actually scans the user’s AMS database and picks out the agency-custom values in some tables (like LOB, Transaction Type, Profile Questions, etc) and creates fields for them ‘on-the-fly’.  Since every agency can create its own entries for these items, every agency’s QueryPlus database will end up different, so we want to get things pretty well settled and stable in terms of QueryPlus database design before releasing an enhancement which will create a hundred or more custom databases out there!

In the meantime, if you need to query out Remarks for something other than Policy or LOB, just let us know and we’ll create those fields right away.

New reports on the Knowledge Base

clock October 21, 2008 09:00 by author Daily(?) Querier

From our webinar training session:

-                        A template for designing queries for active Policies

-                        A really neat ‘Greeting Card Report’ that queries out Customer mailing information and outputs it right onto standard Avery mailing labels.
This query also allows the user to get their best Customers, based on premium volume of active Policies.

Customer Cross-Reference fields de-mystified

clock October 15, 2008 08:45 by author Daily(?) Querier

A QueryPlus user wanted to run a query that included Customer Cross-Reference data, but wasn’t able to. After investigating, we found that a field needed to be added to show the Type of Cross-Reference. The fields now available for Customer Cross-Reference queries are:

Filter the Cross-Reference fields for a particular Type or Value, and you’ll get the list you are looking for.

QueryPlus version 3.21 is in test

clock October 13, 2008 08:41 by author Daily(?) Querier

Release is scheduled for 10/20/08. The new features will be previewed in the QueryPlus LIVE! Session on 10/21/08 and upgrades will commence immediately.

Here are the enhancements/fixes in the new version: Several major and a number of minor enhancements and/or fixes are in this release. The major enhancements:

  1. Incorporated the AMS360/AFW mapping documents into QueryPlus. The QueryPlus fields for which mapping are available are highlighted in the list, and the appropriated mapping document is opened by a click.
  2. Added a second clause to the Filter Wizard, allowing much more complex filters for queries.

Other enhancements:

  1. Added 3 sorting fields, bringing the total to 7.
  2. Added a 5th filter field in the Filter Wizard.
  3. Enabled the user to cancel the Database Settings window without clearing errors found.
  4. Fixed a problem that caused the System, SubSystem and Component drop-boxes to reset to their default values when returning to the Fields screen from Preview.
  5. Fixed a problem that was preventing the ‘Copy Report’ function from reloading the Reports slide-out list. This happened only when ‘Close’ was clicked instead of ‘OK’. Now, either button causes the list to re-load.
  6. Changed the Reports List slide-out on the Main screen to list reports alphabetically within each Report Group.
  7. Modified the appearance of the Reports List slide-out so that the first Report Group is open and the other Report Groups are shown at the bottom of the list.
  8. Increased the amount of text which can be written in the Comments box on the Step 1 – Report Information screen from 255 characters to 8000.
  9. Added code to inform user when data is not available for the middle drop-box in the Filter Wizard (the one that show the values available for the field). This error has been identified and will be corrected in the next release.

Update to the Customer Open Policy Count field

clock October 1, 2008 08:35 by author Daily(?) Querier

In testing, it was determined that the Customer Open Policy Count field was including those pesky Submissions in its results.

This problem has been fixed. The Customer Open Policy Count field now includes the following criteria:
  • Policy Renewal Report Flag = A or I (Excludes Expired, Cancelled, Re-written, Renewed, Submission, Not Taken)
  • Policy Status <> D (D is for Delete. Included are A = Add, C = Change)
  • Policy Sub Type <> S (to exclude Submissions)
  • Policy Expiration Date after today

Revisions made to the 9/3/08 entry regarding AFW Suspense records

clock October 1, 2008 08:34 by author Daily(?) Querier

A QueryPlus user kindly informed me that it IS possible to create Suspense items without referencing either a Customer or a Policy. To fix this issue, the Suspense fields detailed in the 9/3/08 entry have been re-named as ‘Policy Suspense……’ instead of ‘Suspense…..’, to indicate they only work on Suspense records that are associated with a Policy and Customer.

A new set of Suspense fields will be coming out shortly, which will allow QueryPlus users to access ALL Suspense records.
